‘Stanley Gibbons Inc’ printed Registered envelope sent from St Kitts JY 20 1910, the registration label with the low number of 65. On it is the 5s (SG10) for which Gibbons (Ltd) don’t quote a price. The envelope is made of paper that is browning and would benefit from conservation. Even Brian Brooks doesn’t seem to have one of these – so we can say scarce maybe philatelic or just possibly indicating use as a parcel card

The 2d with War Stamp 1½d sent registered to Montgomery Ward in June 1919 is our preference; but you also get three examples of the same War stamp along with ½d War Tax on OC 16 1918 cover to Port Washington and a clearly philatelic item sent to Switzerland in March 1918 with the ½d War Tax along with ½d, 1d, 2½d and 1s

Two large items sent to Ewens Colonial Stamp Market Ltd, in Norwood. The first has 12 examples of the 1½d WAR STAMP (SG23) and includes a block of four and strip of five in the 1s 6d rate sending an OHMS envelope in SP 1919; the second is a piece of card with handstamp ‘POSTMASTER/ST.KITTS.’ with blue regn crayon and a block of 20 of SG23 which must be a contender for the largest used multiple – 2s 6d the rate on JY 29 18. Even better on the reverse is stuck the despatch label for 500 sheets of 120 set of the ½d duty from requisition 62/17 and with the signature of L Scott, Crown Agents Inspector, a very rare survivor

This may be the same Minister who was based in Alderney when under German Occupation in WWII. Further research may be rewarding
