  • Lot 001

    Lot 001
A commercial censored cover from Anguilla Valley to Stoke-on-Trent, posted in The Valley on 4 December and with 2s 6½d paid for the full transatlantic airmail rate. It went first to St Kitts (9 DE date stamp) and was censored there with a fine strike of the fancy lozenge CH4 mark with manu numeral ‘9’, it is back stamped Antigua DE 11 and in England was opened and resealed with Examined By/7554 tape. The only downside is the rough opening at top has badly damaged the ½d stamp
