The CH2a large circle is the St Kitts censor mark we most commonly feature. Here we offer three surface rate examples with numerals 2, 3 and 4 on outgoing mail from St Kitts. Fine strike of ‘2’ in red on 1941 surface rate cover to New York; ‘3’ in purple well struck to California 22 OC 41; ‘4’ in red, slightly smudged to New Jersey 11 AP 40. This later marked per SS Nerissa – a passenger ship of the Bermuda & West Indies line that was torpedoed and sunk on 1 May 1941 - Est: £45Lot 564

The scarce CH3a octagonal Crown/PASSED/IBB with pencil 435 censor number. Very clear strike on PECO ppc of St John’s Cathedral, Antigua but sent from St Kitts 16 OC 44, 2d postage - Est: £45Lot 566
We single out a printed envelope headed ‘ON HIS MAJESTY’s SERVICE’ then MONEY ORDER ADVICE and finally ‘THE POSTMASTER’; this example initialled by the postmaster and sent to New York 25 FE 43 by Air Mail for 10½d. The initialling did not deter the censor as on the back is a fine strike in violet of the CH4 fancy censor lozenge with pen numeral ‘1’ tying a small piece of resealing tape to the envelope. - Est: £35Lot 567

We can’t recall offering a parcel tag before, this one is addressed to Barclays Bank in Bridgetown Barbados and has a clear arrival date stamp of 18 MY 67.
