    The wartime Postal Surcharge order of 1940 added ¼d to the printed matter rate sent overseas. Very few examples have been reported and those mostly from the Surbrook missionary correspondence. This example to Miss Mollie Norton in Chicago was sent 15 September 1950 paid with a vertical strip of three ¼d stamps by J L Davey in Roseau. The only question mark is why the envelope is now stuck down – did it contravene the ‘unsealed’ requirement to use the printed matter rate or has it subsequently got stuck? - Est: £50
